I’ll end this post by encouraging you to not get caught up with up and to right with everything and with each moment in your life. Because it’s rarely if ever a smooth up and to the right.

Enjoy the ride. And take time to figure it out.

Fun Idea For a Coffee Shop

So many of us are transplants these days.  Wandering nomads far from our original cities, or second or third cities for that matter.  And while our taste in jobs, cities, and weather may change, our taste is coffee often does not.  While I haven’t lived in Santa Barbara for almost 6 years now, my favorite coffee is still Santa Barbara Roasting Company.  It is awesome.  I don’t care what you say.  Intelligentsia isn’t better.  And neither is Gorilla.

What would be really cool, is if I could walk into any city in the US and get a drip coffee from my favorite small roasting company.  One of the great things about Starbucks is that you can go anywhere in the country and get a cup of coffee that tastes relatively the same.  With Starbucks, consistency is king, because we all know that their coffee just isn’t that great.

But, if I could go into a coffee shop in Chicago and New York and LA and Boston and get a cup of coffee from Santa Barbara Roasting Company I would be ecstatic.  I would even pay $2 for the cup of coffee.

Apple and LG. They’re not just making displays.

I have been hearing a lot about the deal between Apple and LG lately, mainly that it is a great strategic alliance, and that we can expect revamped Apple displays hitting the market soon.  Frankly, I think people are being too shortsided.

Apple is not (merely) revamping their displays with LG.  They are making the iTV.

I have no proof, or inside knowledge about this, but I cannot believe the tech blogs are not mentioning this.  Steve Jobs has been wanting to conquer my living room for years now, and the best way to do this is to make an awesome 50” flat screen tv.  If Apple came out with a beautifully designed television, you would all buy one (or at least all you fan boys would, you know it).  But this alliance makes even more sense considering LG is at the forefront of Internet enabled tv’s.  Apple won’t just come out with a normal tv— it will be a computer in and of itself, or at least a big version of the iPhone.

Personally, I can’t wait until I can sit on my couch with my macbook on my lap, surfing channels on my iTV, using my iPhone as a remote.  Ok, even my fanboy-ness is making me sick.
